"They explained to me that you don’t have to go through this. They’ve given me a lot of hope and courage, and helped me on this journey, and it’s been a hard journey for me." - Nicole, Catholic Charities Council Bluffs Phoenix House client

Emergency Shelter

Emergency Shelter

Every year, individuals and families in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro area find themselves homeless and in need of assistance. United Way-funded Emergency Shelters provide a temporary safe and nurturing residence for those in need of shelter, providing a stable foundation as clients work to rebuild to ultimately gain stability. Programs continue to address basic needs of clients, including physical and mental health care, food security, and crisis intervention.
