For many people in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro area, not having enough food is a serious and chronic situation, one that impacts overall health and wellbeing. 

United Way of the Midlands has invested in 12 local programs that impact food security for children, seniors and families.

Food security is the state of having reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food.

We visited Completely KIDS this month to peek behind the scenes at their Weekend Food Program: On Fridays, children receive bags filled with healthy, child-friendly food so they will have food through the weekend.

The generosity of many individuals in our area have empowered United Way of the Midlands to invest with the goal to reduce poverty in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metropolitan area. To learn more about how we invest, visit:
