Volunteer projects across the community occurring throughout the day
Join an anticipated 650 volunteers and more than 30 nonprofit organizations across Douglas, Sarpy and Pottawattamie counties and turn your care for community into action that makes a difference.
Day of Caring is our largest, one-day community-wide volunteer event connecting businesses with nonprofit agencies and schools throughout the community. Individuals and volunteer teams of all sizes are welcome to direct their hands and hearts to those in need. This event promotes and celebrates the spirit and value of volunteering, increases awareness of local community needs and coordinates corporate group and individual efforts into meaningful action. Day of Caring is UWM’s most visible signature volunteer event of the year!
With this year marking the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we are proud to share an upcoming, community-wide initiative: Heartland Honors 9/11. It is a volunteer-led effort bringing the Omaha metro together to remember, reflect, and say thank you to service members, veterans, and first responders through acts of service and remembrance.
