Nebraska Iowa & Tornado Relief Fund

TOGETHER, WE RAISED MORE THAN $1.5 MILLION TO ASSIST OUR NEIGHBORS FOLLOWING THE TORNADOES THAT DEVASTATED NEBRASKA AND IOWA ON APRIL 26.

helping those who need it most:

Thousands of people in Nebraska and Iowa are in need of assistance as recent tornadoes have displaced families, destroyed homes and devastated communities. In response, United Way of the Midlands (UWM) has created the Nebraska & Iowa Tornado Relief Fund (NITRF).

Donations will be used to provide essential support for individuals impacted by the tornadoes, supporting needs not covered by insurance or FEMA assistance. This includes services like temporary housing, legal support, mental health supports, resource navigation and more. Recognizing affected families will experience a range of diverse needs, UWM has activated our partnerships with Goodfellows and Lyft through 211, and other local programs to be responsive and adaptive as needs emerge.

Individuals can contribute to the fund to help our neighbors impacted by this disaster by donating on this web page, texting TORNADO24 to 41444 or calling 402-522-7962

Donors can also direct their gift to victims affected by tornadoes in Waverly, NE, and UWM will  distribute those funds to the United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County who serves that area.
