Last year, as many people continued to face challenges related to the pandemic – coupled with the highest rate of inflation we’ve seen in decades – the demand for services from nonprofit organizations in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro continued to grow. And just like local nonprofits across the metro stepped up their efforts to meet these increased needs, our generous community stepped up, as well.
In a true testament to the giving, caring spirit that runs deep in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro – we were able to raise more than $36 million this past year. Powered by our 2021 Campaign Chairs, Lance and Julie Fritz, and our amazing Board of Directors, we were encouraged to think bigger. Thanks to this leadership, United Way of the Midlands has expanded our community partnerships. We continue to work with organizations across our community who share our commitment to making a difference in the lives of individuals and families struggling to make ends meet.
By bridging the business and not-for-profit sectors, we’re able to raise the funds needed to invest in programs and deliver direct services to our community. We focus on addressing social and economic disparities and meeting families’ essential needs such as healthy food, safe and stable housing, physical and mental health services, career preparation, job training and so much more.
Looking ahead to next year and our 100th year of helping others, we know we’ll be able to address the challenges ahead with the support of generous community members like you.
We are grateful for your partnership.
