OMAHA, Neb. — This Thanksgiving holiday Metro Union members looked to give back in a unique way in boxing ring.

On Wednesday, the Omaha Federation of Labor and United Way of the Midlands hosted their annual Blue Collar Boxing event.

Two dozen local union members faced off for charity.

The event even felt like a primetime experience with the boxers walking out to a song of their choice.

They even had six months to train to show off their skills.

Organizers said this event is needed for the community.

“And all of the events, benefit both these organizations. So not only is it a fun event, but it does some really great things in our community,” said Shawna Forsberg.
