I so enjoyed volunteering at the Shine Bright last year. I was able to volunteer twice. The event was well organized, and I was given complete directions.

I so enjoyed volunteering at the Shine Bright last year. I was able to volunteer twice. The event was well organized, and I was given complete directions. The CIRT process is so rewarding as a volunteer. I've been doing this for 10 years and would encourage anyone looking for a way to be more aware of what is happening in the community to get involved.

I re-started the junior cheer program for grades 2-8 after it had stalled with no leadership for a couple of years when my daughter was nine years old. It gave me the opportunity to leverage my past dance, cheer and pom experience and do something fun with her while giving back to the community. My step-daughter joined me as head coach and we led the program with 25 cheerleaders in the first year. Now the program has grown to include 5-6 volunteer coaches and over 60+ cheerleaders and growing.

I was excited about the opportunity to work more directly with those in our community who have raised their hand to get more involved and create lasting change for our metro. This group is willing to give their time and talent and I'm very proud to be part of that.

The Henry Doorly Zoo is a wonderful educational cause and has something for all ages. As one of the top attractions in the city and being voted as the #1 zoo in the nation, I am proud to volunteer for them.

I love their mission of reducing food waste and putting food into hungry bellies rather than landfills. They truly work to spread the word about how we can all do our part to cut food waste in our community while helping get food to those who truly need it.
