MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID

Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training course that teaches participants about mental health and substance-use issues.

We can all think of someone who has been faced with mental health or substance use challenges. Someone we love, work with, go to school with or all the above. It can be daunting to reach out when you don’t know how to best support them. But don’t you wish you had tools to help?

Leaders in giving

Because of the generosity of these donors and companies, thousands of people across our community received support to get back on their feet.

We are truly grateful to the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro and how they come together each year to support United Way of the Midlands. And we are extremely thankful for the more than 600 partner organizations we have the privilege to work with. We’d also like to extend our special gratitude to the top 100 companies who raised the most during the last fiscal year.

mental health awareness month

As Mental Health Awareness Month, May is a time to raise awareness of and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues.

We can all think of someone who has been faced with mental health or substance use challenges. It can be daunting to reach out when you don’t know how to best support them. But don’t you wish you had tools to help?

Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training course that takes the fear and hesitation out of starting conversations about mental health.

As friends, coworkers, neighbors or family, we all want to support the people in our lives and make our community as resilient as possible. This is how we start.
