Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training course that teaches participants about mental health and substance-use issues.
We can all think of someone who has been faced with mental health or substance use challenges. Someone we love, work with, go to school with or all the above. It can be daunting to reach out when you don’t know how to best support them. But don’t you wish you had tools to help?
We are truly grateful to the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro and how they come together each year to support United Way of the Midlands. And we are extremely thankful for the more than 600 partner organizations we have the privilege to work with. We’d also like to extend our special gratitude to the top 100 companies who raised the most during the last fiscal year.
Thanks to your generosity and support, we raised more than $40 million through campaigns and programs to help those who need it most in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro! Learn about the impact of your investment:

In times of crisis, communities reveal their strength. One year ago, tornadoes swept through our region, leaving a trail of destruction — and a powerful reminder of what it means to care for one another. As devastating storms and tornadoes tore through parts of Nebraska and Iowa, families were displaced, homes were destroyed and lives were uprooted. Yet in the face of this destruction, individuals and businesses across the region stepped up to help. We remember the destruction, but even more, we remember what happened next: a swift, unified response from neighbors, nonprofits and partners across our region.
