Individuals Who Need Assistance Following Recent Tornadoes Urged to Call UWM’s 211 Helpline

Individuals in areas affected by the recent tornadoes and storms in Nebraska and Iowa who need to report storm damage and/or need assistance are being asked to call United Way of the Midlands’ 211 Helpline.

The 211 Helpline is partnering with the Douglas County Emergency Management Agency to take storm damage reports from individuals within the county.

In addition, the Helpline can also assist individuals in Nebraska and Iowa who are looking for referrals for post-storm assistance.

The 211 Helpline, which serves all of Nebraska and most of Iowa, can be reached by dialing 2-1-1, texting your ZIP code to 898211 or by visiting ne211.org.

Community Resource Specialists at 211 will be available to help callers 24/7 with post-storm information for the immediate future. All calls are free and confidential, but standard message and data rates may apply when texting. Assistance is available in more than 200 languages using the tele-interpreter service and bilingual staff.
