Thank you to those of you that were able to join us for dinner with Governor Pillen to celebrate the incredible momentum behind JAG Nebraska. It was a special evening – made even more meaningful by your presence and support.
JAG works—and it’s ready to grow.
On Tuesday, April 29, over 60 individuals gathered for a JAG Nebraska event hosted by Governor Jim Pillen and First Lady, Suzanne, at their residence in Lincoln. This event brought together many current partners as well as employer prospects from around the state to network and engage in powerful conversations surrounding the current state of JAG Nebraska, a statewide program currently supporting close to 4,000 students.
During the event, attendees heard about the progress we’ve already made:
With a $250,000 grant from The Sherwood Foundation, JAG is poised to expand to five additional schools. However, to access the full funding, we must first meet a $200,000 challenge match. We’ve already received support from several attendees and are making great progress—but we still need your help to reach our goal.
At the core of JAG Nebraska’s success is a commitment to high program standards, including high-quality classroom instruction and meaningful employer engagement experiences. This ensures that students not only gain the skills needed to succeed, but also build strong connections to future career opportunities.
JAG Nebraska is a unique public-private partnership, uniting Governor Pillen and the State of Nebraska, corporate partners, school districts and United Ways of Nebraska. By bringing together educators, employers and community leaders – we not only support individual student growth, but also help retain and develop talent right here in Nebraska
