Local Labor Union Members to Face Off in the Ring to Support our Community
at Annual Blue Collar Boxing Charity Event

The Omaha Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO and United Way of the Midlands are hosting their annual Blue Collar Boxing event on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Ralston. The action will kick off at 7 p.m., with 13 bouts on the fight card for the event.

During Blue Collar Boxing, 26 local labor union members will face off in the boxing ring for charity – with 100 percent of proceeds benefitting the Nebraska Center for Workforce Development and Education and United Way of the Midlands.

The competing boxers hail from 13 local labor unions: Bricklayers 15, FOP Lodge 3, FOP Lodge 88, IATSE Local 42, IBEW 22, IBEW 763, Interior Systems Local 1306, Ironworkers 21, Laborers 1140, Plumbers 16, Sprinkler Fitters 669, Steamfitters 464 and Teamsters 554.

The relationship between the AFL-CIO and United Way is built upon a mutual desire to create a better, stronger and more vibrant community. Partners since 1941, it’s that shared commitment to the Omaha-Council Bluffs community that led to the creation of this amateur boxing event in 2019.

Tickets start at $25 and can be purchased at bluecollarboxing.org or the arena box office. The atmosphere will be electric, the energy will be high and the arena will be rocking! For more information, go to bluecollarboxing.org.
