CHAD (Combined Health Agencies Drive; www.chadnebraska.org) Nebraska announced that it received $587,748 through the United Way of the Midlands Campaign. The partnership between the two organizations dates back to 1987. CHAD and the 21 member health charities it represents participates as a campaign partner in the United Way of the Midlands Campaign in workplaces throughout the Omaha Metro. Gifts to the United Way Community Care Fund directly benefit these 21 health charities, just as they help support the human services programs funded by United Way. CHAD receives a percentage of the United Way of the Midlands Campaign and the dollars raised.
“This partnership combines our strengths and contacts to present one unified campaign for employees in the metro,” said Michelle Grossman, CHAD president and CEO. “We know that many of the people our member charities are serving might need support from agencies funded by United Way of the Midlands, and vice versa. Additionally, poor health is a major cause of poverty, and dollars that fund research for cures and provide education on prevention of chronic disease are desperately needed to reduce this major cause of poverty.”
