United Way of the Midlands is proud to announce that two of its corporate partners – UPS and Wells Fargo – were recognized by United Way Worldwide (UWW) for their Corporate Social Responsibility work. UPS® received UWW’s new Gamechangers Award and Wells Fargo received its new LIVE UNITED Award at UWW’s Community Leadership and Impact Conference in Toronto.
Locally, UPS raised nearly $195,000 to support individuals in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro area during its 2018 UWM workplace campaign. During its local 2018 workplace campaign, Wells Fargo raised more than $190,000. The company also awarded UWM an $86,000 grant to support local healthy food and hunger relief programs, a $5,000 sponsorship of UWM’s Book Trust literacy initiative and a $15,000 match for the dollars UWM raises during the 2019 Omaha Gives! charitable fundraising challenge. In addition, Wells Fargo employees are active UWM volunteers with the Book Trust program at Edison Elementary and serve on the steering committees of UWM’s affinity groups – Emerging Leaders and Women United.
