OMAHA, Neb. (FOX42 KPTM) — The United Way’s 211 helpline now has a coronavirus alert system.
According to the United Way, more than 10,000 people in Nebraska and Iowa have used its 211 helpline for information related to the coronavirus pandemic.
Nebraskans can opt into the new alert system by texting NECOVID to 898211.
After signing up the United Way says subscribers will receive general information and updates about the coronavirus via text message.
The United Ways says 211 Helpline specialists will continue to personally help those in need of healthcare, food, housing assistance, utility assistance, counseling or more.
