Food Mapping Report for the Omaha-Council Bluffs Metropolitan Area

DOWNLOAD: Food Mapping in Our Community

For families struggling with the cycle of poverty, one of the most pressing needs is often accessing nutritious, affordable food.  As part of our mission to to address the needs of those in poverty with greater precision, the United Way of the Midlands (UWM) has defined specific goals and strategies related to our investments in food security.  Additionally, we are excited to be part of this study to understand the needs in our community relative to food. UWM’s Community Impact and Analytics team applied a mixed methods approach utilizing publicly available data, field research, focus groups, interviews and other community engagement activities to provide a more complete picture of service delivery and assets across the entire metro area. In total, UWM reviewed data from more than a dozen sources and engaged more than 150 individuals in the process.
