MEDIA ALERT: May 12, 2022

THIS SATURDAY – Omaha Beef Game to Benefit Nebraska Students

Who: The Omaha Beef, JAG Nebraska and United Way of the Midlands (UWM) Emerging Leaders

Why: The Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) program is an evidence-based, data-driven organization that is dedicated to empowering students with the skills and support to succeed in education, employment and life. Officially launched in Nebraska in July 2020, JAG Nebraska integrates project-based learning and employer engagement through competency-based, for-credit, elective classroom instruction. The JAG model allows students to participate in hands-on, realistic learning experiences – with the support to help them navigate high school graduation and achieve post-graduation success.

Currently, JAG Nebraska is serving 645 students in eight school districts across the state – and the program will increase to 1,250 students in 11 school districts for the 2022-23 school year.

UWM’s Emerging Leaders group is a dynamic group of young professionals who are focused on making connections with a purpose. They participate in events and volunteer projects to create positive change in our community, and their many fundraising efforts and activities
help support JAG Nebraska.

What: During the game, members of the Omaha Beef will be wearing custom JAG Nebraska jerseys, and 20% of proceeds from tickets purchased at unitedwaymidlands.org/omahabeef will go directly to the JAG Nebraska program. In addition, there will be fun activities during the game, raffle drawings and a silent auction for the customized jerseys.
