United Way of the Midlands and the School Based Attendance Coalition will kick off Attendance Awareness Month at 10 a.m. today at River’s Edge Pavilion, located in Tom Hanafan River’s Edge Park in Council Bluffs.
The kickoff event will feature mayoral and student proclamations, recognition of three “Attendance Champions” from Iowa and Nebraska, entertainment from the Wilson Middle School band and special guest speakers. Area mayors, school officials, juvenile justice agencies, nonprofits and families will be in attendance.
