University Of Nebraska-Lincoln Donates 2300 Gallons Of Hand-Sanitizer To Area Non-Profits

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is donating 2300 gallons of hand-sanitizer to the “Hygiene for Humanity” supply drive. The sanitizer will be distributed to the more than 10 participating Omaha metro nonprofits. The hand-sanitizer is a result from a partnership between the university and Nebraska’s ethanol industry. The university made the sanitizer in the Food Processing Center on Nebraska Innovation Campus, they began the project back in April.

Brayton Hagge is the communication manager of the United Way of the Midlands and says the University’s donation is the largest the drive has received so far.

“We know that right now non-profits are working really hard to meet the increased needs in our community,” Hagge said.

The drive will be collecting items until June 14.
